What Is It Like to Climb Mount Pico?

The adventure begins at Casa da Montanha, located at 1,200 meters above sea level, where we provide a full briefing and equipment check.

The official Mount Pico trail covers approximately 8 km to the summit and crosses volcanic rock fields, lava formations, and steep mountain terrain.

Throughout the climb, we make strategic stops to rest, hydrate, and enjoy the extraordinary scenery.

As we gain altitude, the Atlantic Ocean stretches endlessly below us and the neighboring islands slowly appear on the horizon.

The most emotional moment comes when reaching “Piquinho,” the volcanic cone inside the crater.

The silence, the wind, the volcanic energy, and the feeling of accomplishment create a memory that lasts forever.
